IVAO 20th Anniversary - an update from the staff

You are here

Dear IVAO BeLux member, dear visitor, in 2018 the IVAO network as well as our division have now reached the age of 20! This will be celebrated on different occasions and a first one is already taking place on Saturday 20 October! The IVAO network and the BeLux division would not exist if it weren't for you, pilots and controllers, dedicating your free time to simulating aviation as real as it gets. The BeLux division staff is always aiming to improve service towards you as a member and with this 20th anniversary we felt it was only right to give you some small presents from our side. Please read through to find out everything you need to know!

Resources Page

Over the past weeks we have been working hard to create a new and more user friendly Resources page. On this new page you will find flight information about all the real-life airlines with headquarters in Belgium and Luxembourg. Secondly a brand new scenery page is now available, listing the most accurate sceneries for airports in Belgium and Luxembourg. Together with the Special Operations page and Controller Files page these new pages will be kept up to date.

IvAc 1 and IVAC2 updates

Controllers among you know that two different softwares can be used for ATC on the network. Over the past months we have started to update the EBBU Sector File for the older IvAc 1 software. At the same time we also keep updating the data in IVAC2. Updates for the Sector File are not fully finished yet, but we aim to reduce the difference in map data between IvAc 1 and IVAC2 to a minimum eventually.

To give an example: a few weeks ago both the ground details for Brussels and Luxembourg were redrawn in both IvAc 1 and IVAC2. Below you can see the details for ELLX and EBBR in respectively IvAc1 and IVAC2. Stay tuned for more updates and if you are using IvAc 1, make sure you downloaded the latest files available on the resources page!
