BUB DVOR Maintenance Phase 2

Brussels DVOR will be out of service due to maintenance works. Temporary procedures will be put in place and you can read all about these in this blog post.

In real life Brussels DVOR (BUB, 114.60 MHz) will be out of service for about one month due to hardware upgrades. This will be simulated on the IVAO network and in this blog post you can find more information about it. During the maintenance works the signal of the VOR cannot be used for navigation purposes. This has an impact on the airports of Antwerpen, Brussels, Charleroi and Liège. Most of the conventional instrument procedures related to BUB have received a (temporary) RNAV1 overlay. Aircraft equipped for RNAV1 operations (most of them flying on these airports are) will thus not be affected. Aircraft not equipped for RNAV1 operations will receive vectored departures and/or SRA approaches if there are no conventional procedures available.

  • What: Refurbishment (sanding and painting) of the metal structure of Brussels DVOR (BUB, 114.60 MHz)
  • When: 27 AUG 2019 - 30 SEP 2019 (end time subject to change, depending on the progress)
  • Impact: BUB signal is not available, conventional procedures related to BUB cannot be used

Pilots

The new temporary RNAV1 procedures are available in AIRAC cycle 1909 (effective 15 AUG 2019) and 1910 (effective 12 SEP 2019). They shall not be used outside the maintenance works time frame however. If you don't update your navigation data cycle (Aerosoft, Navigraph,...) every four weeks, we can certainly recommend to do the update this time. Additionally, make sure your flightplan indicates suitable equipment codes (item 10a). If RNAV1 equipment is not indicated, ATC will revert to conventional and/or radar vectoring procedures. Controllers

A controller note is available in the quickview section of the Controller Files page. This note contains all the temporary procedures to be used during the maintenance works and it temporarily overrides the information in the quickviews. After the works have been finished, everything returns to normal operations and this note can be ignored. The end time of the works will be communicated.
